It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Paulding County Patriots ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They managed a 54-49 win over Cass. The victory was just what Paulding County needed coming off of a 60-30 defeat in their prior game.
Paulding County got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Hope Johnson out in front who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 17 rebounds. Johnson continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Alexus Wilson was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 13 rebounds.
The win got Paulding County back to even at 6-6. As for Cass, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-3.
Paulding County will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Wheeler at 5:30 p.m. on December 30th. Cass will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Winder-Barrow at 3:00 p.m. on December 21st. Winder-Barrow has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 28.
