The Eagleton College & Career Academy Royals will challenge the Oliver Springs Bobcats at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Having struggled with four losses in a row, Eagleton College & Career Academy turned things around against Rockwood on Wednesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Tigers a 15-0 shutout.

Jayce Simon made a big impact no matter where he played. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Simon was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with three RBI and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Eagleton College & Career Academy's success: when he posts at least three RBI the team is undefeated (and 4-6-1 when he doesn't).
In other batting news, Chase Herman was a standout: he scored two runs while going 2-for-2. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Caldwell Charlie was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI.
Eagleton College & Career Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .792. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Oliver Springs took on Campbell County on Thursday. The Bobcats blew past the Cougars 13-3. Winning may never get old, but the Bobcats sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row.
Liam Boeke was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over 4.2 innings pitched. Boeke was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.
In other batting news, Eli Brummett was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. That home run was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Cooper Jones, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.
Oliver Springs pushed their record up to 9-4 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.7 runs over those games. As for Eagleton College & Career Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 9-6-1.
