Woodson is 2-8 against Jackson-Reed since February of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Woodson Warriors will head out on the road to take on the Jackson-Reed Tigers at 7:00 p.m. Woodson will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps District of Columbia Rankings (they are ranked 25th, while Jackson-Reed is ranked second).
Woodson suffered their biggest loss since December 11, 2023 on Friday. They were dealt a 69-40 loss at the hands of Potomac School. Woodson was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-16.
Meanwhile, Jackson-Reed stacked a 15th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Wednesday. They blew past Banneker 81-61. The win was nothing new for Jackson-Reed as they're now sitting on seven straight.
The match pitted two dominant players against one another in Jayden Fort and Doran Clausell. Fort had a great game and dropped a double-double on 21 points and 11 rebounds. Meanwhile, Clausell was balling out in the loss, scoring 14 points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Woodson has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season. As for Jackson-Reed, their victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-2.
Woodson was dealt a bruising 73-32 loss at the hands of Jackson-Reed in their previous meeting back in January of 2023. Can Woodson avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
