There's no place like home for the Cherokee Chiefs, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Thursday. They snuck past Westampton Tech with a 47-41 victory on Saturday. Given Cherokee's advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 111th, while Westampton Tech is ranked 243rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Westampton Tech's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Henry Njoga, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and five blocks, and Daelan Dickerson who scored 13 points. Njoga hasn't dropped below two blocks for three straight games.
Cherokee's victory bumped their record up to 15-11. As for Westampton Tech, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-16 record this season.
Cherokee will head out on the road to square off against Seneca at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Cherokee is facing Seneca at the right time seeing as Seneca is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Westampton Tech, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Holy Cross at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
