After flying high against the Highland Park Hornets on Thursday, the Miami Warriors came back down to earth. Miami fell just short of Follett by a score of 43-40. Miami was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Follett apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.
Follett's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Alexia Dorris led the charge by dropping a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Reyna Rosales, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 18 rebounds.
Miami has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. As for Follett, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-5.
Miami will head out on the road to face off against Hedley at 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday. As for Follett, they will be playing at home against McLean at 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday. McLean will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
