Wiley is 3-0 against Manzanola since January of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Wiley Panthers will be playing at home against the Manzanola Bobcats at 4:00 p.m. Both teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses apiece.
Last Saturday, Wiley came up short against Eads and fell 53-43. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Wiley in their matchups with Eads: they've now lost three in a row.
Wiley's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Rhett McDonald, who scored 14 points, and Evan Larrick who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Bo Arnold, who scored five points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Manzanola ended up a good deal behind Hanover on Thursday and lost 34-17.
Wiley has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season. As for Manzanola, their loss dropped their record down to 2-10.
Everything came up roses for Wiley against Manzanola when the teams last played back in February of 2016 as the squad secured a 69-16 win. With Wiley ahead 40-7 at the half, the game was all but over already.
