Winning is just a little bit easier when you work as a team to rack up nine more assists than your opponent, a fact the Woodlan Warriors proved on Saturday. They took down South Adams 63-49. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Woodlan.
Woodlan found their leader in underclassman Alyssa Anderson, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds. Anderson hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for three straight games. Taylor Kneubuhler was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with six rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why South Adams lost, one person who can't be blamed is Macy Pries. Despite the final result, she scored 24 points along with eight rebounds and six steals. That was a full 49% of South Adams' points, marking the eighth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Liz Gerber, who scored seven points along with eight rebounds and four steals.
Woodlan has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season. As for South Adams, their defeat was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 6-14.
