St. Joseph Catholic (Madison, Miss.) kept up a steady attack all game long to defeat Amite County (Liberty, Miss.), 42-0, on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a
William Fetherson touchdown run in the first quarter, the Bruins led 21-0 at the half.
St. Joseph Catholic expanded its lead to 35 points entering the fourth quarter. SJC scored two times in the third, including once on a defensive touchdown.
With the win the Madison school extended its winning streak to nine games. The Bruins defeated the Wolves 47-13 last week.
Nick Beasley played well for St. Joseph Catholic in the victory. The senior ran for one touchdown and caught one touchdown. He has now scored 15 touchdowns on the season.
SJC came into the game allowing 9.9 points per game.
The Bruins also won the meeting between the two teams last season, 31-18.
The defeat comes as a step back for Amite County, which notched a 50-7 victory over Enterprise in its previous outing.
Amite County (1-6) goes up against Puckett in a 2A Region 6 game matchup next week, while St. Joseph Catholic (9-0) locks horns with Wesson also in a 2A Region 6 game.
