Softball Recap: Thursday's Win Is Stony Point's 11th in Last 13 Outings

After only two runs in their last match, Stony Point made sure to put some runs up on the board against Round Rock Westwood on Thursday. The Tigers blew past the Warriors 18-7. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won 13 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Kali Winner was a standout: she fired off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-4. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. Belle Sauceda was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Stony Point lost a few balls and finished the game with five home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Stony Point has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-6-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Round Rock Westwood, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season.
