The Seminole Ridge Hawks and the Atlantic Eagles squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but sadly the Seminole Ridge Hawks had to settle for second. They fell to the Eagles 58-52. Seminole Ridge was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Atlantic apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January.
Seminole Ridge lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jayla Midget, who scored 21 points. Janiah Suprius was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with six assists.
Elanie Sullard continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Atlantic, scoring 17 points along with six rebounds and six blocks. Sullard has been hot recently, having posted 17 or more points the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Teresa Pierre, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and two blocks.
Seminole Ridge's defeat dropped their record down to 13-7. As for Atlantic, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season.
Seminole Ridge does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Atlantic will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Blanche Ely at 7:00 p.m. on February 9th. Blanche Ely will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Atlantic surely won't give up without a fight.
