The Whitko Wildcats will face off against the South Adams Starfires at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Whitko 3.5, South Adams 2.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Whitko took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They walked away with a 5-1 victory over Peru.

Addie Garr spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up 14 Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Chloe Keen was excellent, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Taylor Long was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
Meanwhile, South Adams had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They put the hurt on Adams Central with a sharp 15-5 win on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Starfires, who have now won 16 games by six runs or more so far this season.
Addie Baker was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing five innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Baker was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.
In other batting news, South Adams got a massive performance out of Reagan Beitler, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Reece Beitler, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
The victory (which was South Adams' eighth in a row) raised their record to 22-5. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.4 runs over those games. As for Whitko, they pushed their record up to 16-7 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.
Whitko came out on top in a nail-biter against South Adams in their previous meeting back in June of 2017, sneaking past 1-0. Do the Wildcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Starfires turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
