The Summit Tigers came tearing into Saturday's game with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They took down Steamboat Springs 44-30. That's another feather in the cap for Summit, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Summit can attribute much of their success to Kayla Smith, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. Doussouba Sylla was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Summit's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-7. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.7 points per game. As for Steamboat Springs, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-9.
Summit will play host again and welcome Glenwood Springs, where tip off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Glenwood Springs is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak. As for Steamboat Springs, Steamboat Springs and Moffat County will face off at 5:30 p.m. on January 26th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Moffat County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 40 on Saturday.
