Soccer Game Preview: Gilbert vs. Mountain View

Gilbert has gone 3-0 against Mountain View recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Gilbert Tigers will welcome the Mountain View Toros at 6:00 p.m. Gilbert will be strutting in after a win while Mountain View will be coming in after a loss.

Gilbert will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any goals last Friday, then bounced right back against Westwood last Friday. Gilbert sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 victory over Westwood. The win was all the more spectacular given the Tigers' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona soccer rankings (they are ranked 33rd, while the Warriors are ranked fifth).

Meanwhile, Mountain View fell victim to Desert Mountain and their airtight defense on Friday. They fell just short of Wolves by a score of 1-0. The loss was the Toros' first of the season.

The victory got Gilbert back to even at 4-4-2. As for Mountain View, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1-1.

Everything went Gilbert's way against Mountain View when the teams last played back in December of 2021, as Gilbert made off with a 4-0 win. Does Gilbert have another victory up their sleeve, or will Mountain View turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
