On Friday, The Sage Hill Lightning faced the Avalon Lancers in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Sage Hill was beaten by Avalon 63-26. Sage Hill lost against Avalon in their previous head to head back in October of 2021, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 58-20 score last time.
When it comes to explaining why Sage Hill lost, one person who can't be blamed is Danyel Khan. Despite the final result, he picked up 242 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
Sage Hill has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-4 record this season. As for Avalon, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-1.
Sage Hill does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Avalon also has no future games currently scheduled.
