The Cumberland Pirates won the last time they faced the Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City Bobcats, and things went their way on Wednesday too. Cumberland secured a 32-28 W over Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City. The win made it back-to-back wins for Cumberland.
Among those leading the charge was Kelby Bierman, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Those eight rebounds set a new season-high mark for him.
Several Bobcats players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Clayton Wojcik, who scored eight points. Kaidyn Calame was another key contributor, scoring six points along with three steals.
Cumberland has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 4-4 record this season. As for Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-5.
Cumberland will head out on the road to face off against Brownstown/St. Elmo at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City's road trip will continue as they head out to face Mulberry Grove at 6:15 p.m. on December 15th. Hopefully Mulberry Grove focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Wednesday.
