In a tight contest that could have gone either way, they made off with a 60-59 win over Notre Dame. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Tygarts Valley found their leader in underclassman Jacob Wamsley, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 15 rebounds. Those 14 points set a new season-high mark for him. Ian Harris was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Tygarts Valley's victory bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Notre Dame, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-7.
Tygarts Valley will head out on the road to face off against East Hardy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. East Hardy presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Tygarts Valley in West Virginia (East Hardy is ranked 19th, while Tygarts Valley is ranked 101st). As for Notre Dame, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Braxton County at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Braxton County is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
