Buena Vista is 1-9 against Rankin since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Buena Vista Longhorns will look to defend their home court against the Rankin Red Devils at 7:30 p.m. Buena Vista will be looking to keep their 11-game home win streak alive.
Last Tuesday, Buena Vista strolled past Iraan with points to spare, taking the game 54-35.
Buena Vista's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sebastian Porras, who scored 22 points along with five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Porras has scored all season. Caden Valdez was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with nine rebounds and five steals.
Meanwhile, Rankin was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 56-50 to Comstock.
Buena Vista is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season. As for Rankin, their defeat ended a nine-game streak of away wins and brought them to 4-9.
Everything went Buena Vista's way against Rankin in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 as Buena Vista made off with a 65-43 victory. Does Buena Vista have another victory up their sleeve, or will Rankin turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
