On Saturday, Hertford County rang in the new year with a 60-48 victory over Trinity Academy. The win made it back-to-back wins for Hertford County.
Hertford County got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Keveon Rodgers out in front who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds. Rodgers is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Robinson, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Hertford County's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Trinity Academy, they bumped their record down to 6-6 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hertford County and Northeastern will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 10th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Northeastern is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 64.8 points per game. As for Trinity Academy, Trinity Academy and St. David's will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 12th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully St. David's focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Saturday.
