Basketball Game Preview: Commodore Perry Panthers vs. Cambridge Springs Devils

The Commodore Perry Panthers will face off against the Cambridge Springs Devils at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.

It was a proper cat-fight when Commodore Perry duked it out withCochranton on Monday. The match between Commodore Perry and Cochranton didn't end well, with Commodore Perry falling 45-30. The Panthers have struggled against the Cardinals recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Despite the defeat, Commodore Perry had strong showings from Eastin Post, who posted eight points along with eight blocks and five boards, and Bella Saxe, who had 13 points and four steals. Those eight blocks gave Post a new career-high.

Meanwhile, Cambridge Springs had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They blew past the Orioles, posting a 58-21 victory. The Devils have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 20 points or more this season.

Cambridge Springs has also been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.2 points per game. As for Commodore Perry, their loss dropped their record down to 7-10.

Commodore Perry suffered a grim 61-41 defeat to Cambridge Springs in their previous matchup back in January. Can Commodore Perry avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
