Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for The Kingman Eagles, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They fell 36-28 to Southeast of Saline on Friday. Kingman was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Southeast of Saline apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2022.
Southeast of Saline had a senior duo take command as Nathan Friesen rushed for 128 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries and Daniel Kejr rushed for 99 yards and a touchdown. Friesen was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 58 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Cameron Witte, who picked up 79 receiving yards and a touchdown.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Southeast of Saline's defense and their four sacks. Kingman's QB won't forget Deacon Baier anytime soon given Baier sacked him twice.
Kingman's loss dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Southeast of Saline, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.
Kingman does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Southeast of Saline will square off against Hoisington at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hoisington knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past five matchups -- so hopefully Southeast of Saline likes a good challenge.
