The Gibson Southern Titans will take on the North Posey Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Gibson Southern's pitching crew has only allowed 2.4 runs per game this season, so North Posey's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Gibson Southern is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to ten runs on Saturday, they were much more limited against Barr-Reeve on Monday. They fell just short of the Vikings by a score of 3-2. The defeat continues a trend for the Titans in their meetings with the Vikings: they've now lost three in a row.
Seth Parsons made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Brayden Campbell, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask North Posey). They were the clear victors by a 22-1 margin over Evansville Christian on Monday. Considering the Vikings have won five games by more than eight runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Remington Johnson made a splash while hitting and pitching. He tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Johnson was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, North Posey got a massive performance out of Ethan Mansfield, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Evan Tuley was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
North Posey lost a few balls and finished the game with four home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in March of 2024.
North Posey pushed their record up to 9-4 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Gibson Southern, their loss dropped their record down to 9-4.
