Given River Ridge/Scales Mound's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 212th, while West Carroll is ranked 623rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Laiken Haas was a one-man wrecking crew for River Ridge/Scales Mound as she scored 13 points along with six assists and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Emily Wiederholt, who scored 13 points.
River Ridge/Scales Mound has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 20-7 record this season. As for West Carroll, they are on a 15-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-24.
