Softball Recap: Moore County Has No Trouble Against Grundy County

Moore County's game last Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They put the hurt on the Grundy County Yellowjackets with a sharp 11-5 victory. With that win, the Raiders brought their scoring average up to 6.1 runs per game.

Anna Leigh Ross was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. Kallie Ross was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Anna Leigh wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Moore County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. Moore County is a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

The victory got Moore County back to even at 4-4. As for Grundy County, their defeat was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Moore County will take on Huntland at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Moore County is facing Huntland at the right time seeing as Huntland is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Grundy County, they will face off against Cascade at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
