The Drummond Trojans had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22.5 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Thursday. They walked away with a 49-36 win over Charlo. For Drummond, this counts as revenge for the 50-36 loss Charlo walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2019.
Leading Drummond to victory were Lexi Nelson and Remington Cline. Nelson scored 15 points along with four steals, while Cline scored 17 points along with nine rebounds and six steals. Cline has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. Another player making a difference was Bailey Parke, who scored eight points along with five rebounds.
Drummond's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Charlo, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-4.
Drummond won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Granite at 5:00 p.m. on January 19th. Granite comes in still looking for their first win of the season. Charlo on the road again on Friday and play against Hot Springs at 6:00 p.m. on January 19th. Hot Springs is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.
