There's no place like home for the Orange Panthers, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road on Friday. They came out on top against Garner by a score of 47-35 on Tuesday. The victory was just what Orange needed coming off of a 53-30 defeat in their prior game.
Orange was led to victory by Addison Atkins and Evelyn George. Atkins scored 17 points along with six rebounds, while George dropped a double-double on 14 points and 14 rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which George has scored at least 25% of Orange's points. Marshea Byrd was another key contributor, scoring six points along with 11 rebounds.
Orange is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. As for Garner, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-5.
Orange will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Southern Alamance at 7:00 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in North Carolina (Southern Alamance is ranked 251st, while Orange is ranked 243rd). As for Garner, they will head out on the road to face off against South Garner at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. South Garner knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past five matches -- so hopefully Garner likes a good challenge.
