The Rochester Rockets will head out on the road to face off against the Father McGivney Catholic Griffins at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Rochester focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 27 on Friday.
Rochester unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak. They were dealt a 76-30 loss at the hands of Lincoln. Rochester was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-9.
Rochester's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Taylor Offer, who scored 13 points, and Emily Thomas who scored three points. The contest was Offer's fourth in a row with at least ten points.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Father McGivney Catholic, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 43-26 loss to Mater Dei on Monday. While losing is never fun, Father McGivney Catholic can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 307th, while Mater Dei is ranked 38th).
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Sami Oller, who scored nine points. She hasn't dropped below two steals for seven straight games.

This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Rochester have been smashing the glass this season, having only averaged 23.7 rebounds per game. It's a different story for Father McGivney Catholic, though, as they've been averaging only 31.5 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Rochester beat Father McGivney Catholic 46-34 in their previous matchup back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for Rochester since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
