The Kosciusko Whippets scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They secured a 76-70 W over Caledonia. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Kosciusko to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jaybre Pierce, who scored 22 points along with five assists and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Pierce has scored all season. Andrew Mancell was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with six rebounds.
Kosciusko pushed their record up to 18-6 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.5 points per game. As for Caledonia, their loss ended a nine-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-5.
Kosciusko and Greenwood will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 29th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Greenwood is coming into the match hot, having won their last four games. As for Caledonia, they will play host again and welcome North Pontotoc, where tip off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
