Softball Recap: Lebanon Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Lebanon barely beat Greencastle the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Tigers were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Tiger Cubs on Saturday. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten contests by six runs or more this season.

Not much got past Miley Wilhoite, who gave up just five hits to keep Greencastle off the board. Wilhoite has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, MacKenzie Carey was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Addy Zell, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one triple.

Lebanon hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are 9-2 when they post two or more strikeouts.

The win was the third in a row for Lebanon, bringing their record up to 12-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Greencastle, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-7.

Lebanon has already played their next match, a 10-2 loss against Triton Central on the 3rd. As for Greencastle, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 5-4 win against Warren Central on the 3rd.
