Volleyball Recap: Mclaurin Starts Season with Win Against Raleigh

McLaurin had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They came out on top against the Raleigh Lions by a score of 3-1. This was payback for the Tigers, who suffered a 3-1 loss the last time these two teams met.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-20, 21-25, 25-16.

Kaydann Reed paced McLaurin's offense, picking up ten kills. Reed really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with ten. She was also solid from the service line: she led the team with 15 aces.

Raleigh dropped their record down to 1-1 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. McLaurin will venture away from home to face off against Jefferson Davis County at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. This will be the Tigers' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Raleigh, they will head out to take on Mendenhall at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
