Crosspoint Christian lost against the Providence Classical Christian Academy Panthers back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Crosspoint Christian fell 53-42 to the Panthers. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Crosspoint Christian in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now lost four in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Crosspoint Christian lost, one person who can't be blamed is James Murray. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 17 points and 18 rebounds. That was a full 40.5% of Crosspoint Christian's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jace Stroup, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Even though they lost, Crosspoint Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Providence Classical Christian Academy only pulled down seven offensive rebounds.
Ben Mattull continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Providence Classical Christian Academy, scoring 20 points along with eight rebounds and seven steals. Mattull has been hot recently, having posted 18 or more points the last four times he's played. Lance Zrodlowski was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Crosspoint Christian now has a losing record at 8-9. As for Providence Classical Christian Academy, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Crosspoint Christian won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Knights at 7:30 p.m. on January 30th. St. Louis Christian HomeSchool K is coming into the matchup on a six-game losing streak. As for Providence Classical Christian Academy, they will be playing at home against the Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
