Unioto has gone 8-2 against Westfall recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Shermans will face off against the Mustangs at 4:00 p.m. Unioto will be looking to extend their current 11-game winning streak.
Unioto is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They never let New Lexington get on the board and left with an 11-0 win. The Shermans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 games by six runs or more this season.

KB Perkins made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those three runs gave him a new career-high.
In other pitching news, Blake Sanders looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.
Back at the plate, Caden Speakman was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Braydon White, who got on base in both of his plate appearances with two runs.
Meanwhile, Westfall earned a 7-2 victory over Logan Elm on Tuesday.
Noah Stonerock tossed a big game, pitching six innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Brenden Tuttle, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Another player making a difference was Rick Hanley, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.
Westfall was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .391. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .310 or higher in three consecutive matches.
Unioto pushed their record up to 22-6 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for Westfall, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 13-10.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Unioto has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.1 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Westfall struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.4 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Unioto skirted past Westfall 3-2 in their previous meeting on May 5th. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Shermans since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
