The Althoff Catholic Crusaders can now show off 11 landslide victories after their most recent match on Thursday. They put the hurt on Gibault Catholic with a sharp 58-36 win. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 29-8.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Althoff Catholic to victory, but perhaps none more so than Emilee Travnicek, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Travnicek is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Amalia Distler, who scored seven points along with five steals.
Gibault Catholic lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Kamille Grohmann, who scored 11 points. Karmon Grohmann was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Althoff Catholic's victory was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-9. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 18.9 points. As for Gibault Catholic, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost ten of their last 12 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-15 record this season.
Althoff Catholic will head out on the road to face off against Mt. Vernon at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Gibault Catholic, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Bunker Hill at 7:15 p.m. Bunker Hill is coming into the matchup on a six-game losing streak.
