The Oak Hill Golden Eagles will venture away from home to square off against the Western Panthers at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Oak Hill is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 20-1 margin over Southwood on Friday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Golden Eagles with their most commanding win of the season.
Jett Ott looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

At the plate, Oak Hill got a massive performance out of Trenner Boswell, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI. Those three runs gave Boswell a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Dylan Archer, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one double.
Oak Hill always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .568. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Western posted their closest victory since May 18, 2024 on Friday. They skirted past Northwestern 3-1. The win continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won eight in a row.
Ashton Castillo tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out nine over 5.1 innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in seven consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Western secured the victory behind a pair of hitters. One of them was Ryan Rodman, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.
Western's win was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-2. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Oak Hill, the win got them back to even at 6-6.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Oak Hill has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.1 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Western struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Oak Hill couldn't quite finish off Western in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 and fell 5-3. Can the Golden Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
