Perry is 8-2 against Basha since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Pumas will challenge the Bears at 11:00 a.m. Perry is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.
Perry took a six-run defeat the last time they faced off against Casteel, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Pumas narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Colts 3-2.

Perry got a great performance from Dillon Mendoza as he pitched six innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. What's more, Mendoza posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March.
At the plate, Max DeFrancesco and Andrew Hover did most of the damage at the plate: DeFrancesco went 1-for-3 with one home run, while Hover went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Basha posted their closest victory since April 8, 2024 on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 win over Chandler. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bears.
David Richter spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Parker Anderson was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two runs. He has become a key player for Basha: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 7-13-1 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Chanley, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
Perry's record now sits at 16-6. As for Basha, their record is now 10-13-1.
Basha's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Perry hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .369. It's a different story for Basha, though, as they've only averaged .244. Will they be able to contain Perry's hitters?
Perry skirted past Basha 2-1 in their previous matchup last Tuesday. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Pumas since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
