Zephyrhills Christian Academy has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Winthrop College Prep Academy Spartans at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Zephyrhills Christian Academy earned a 66-53 victory over Patel.
Zephyrhills Christian Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Rogers Jones, who scored 20 points along with 8 rebounds and 3 blocks. That makes it five consecutive games in which Jones has scored at least 25% of Zephyrhills Christian Academy's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordani Blanc, who scored 20 points along with 5 rebounds.
Meanwhile, even though Admiral Farragut scored an imposing 65 points on Friday, Winthrop College Prep Academy still came out on top. Winthrop College Prep Academy sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 68-65 victory over Admiral Farragut. The victory was all the more spectacular given Winthrop College Prep Academy's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 409th, while Admiral Farragut is ranked 110th).
The losses dropped Zephyrhills Christian Academy to 1-4 and Patel to 1-5.
