If the MaxPreps state rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for Wayne Hills. They will look to defend their home turf on Friday against Passaic Valley at 7:00 PM. Passaic Valley will need to watch out since Wayne Hills have now posted big point totals in their last three contests.
Wayne Hills won against Fair Lawn two weeks ago with 42 points, and Wayne Hills decided to stick to that point total again last Friday. Wayne Hills made easy work of West Milford and carried off a 42-15 victory. Senior Tom Sharkey was the offensive standout of the match for Wayne Hills, as he accumulated 169 passing yards and picked up 40 yards on the ground. Sharkey has been a consistent playmaker for Wayne Hills as this was the 5th good game in a row from him.
Meanwhile, after a disappointing 7 points in their last matchup, Passaic Valley made sure to put some points up on the board against Fair Lawn. Passaic Valley put a hurting on Fair Lawn to the tune of 40-0. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 26-0.
Their wins bumped Wayne Hills to 4-1 and Passaic Valley to 1-3. Given their high-scoring efforts against their previous opponents, it will be interesting to see how far up these teams can run up the score.
