Capital (Helena, Mont.) came into Saturday's contest ranked No. 5 in Montana, but was stunned by
Glacier (Kalispell, Mont.), 31-7. Glacier was ranked at No. 6 in the MaxPreps Freeman Rankings for Montana coming into the week.
After taking the lead on a safety in the second quarter, the Wolfpack led 18-7 at the half.
Glacier grew its lead to 24 points entering the fourth quarter. GHS scored two times in the third, including once on a passing touchdown.
A big 18-point second quarter helped the Kalispell school secure the win. The Wolfpack scored on a rushing touchdown and a passing touchdown in the quarter.
Capital's lone touchdown came on a 6-yard run by
Tristan Shea in the second quarter.
The Bruins came in giving up 17.4 points per game this season. Glacier came into the game allowing 17.4 points per game.
The defeat comes as a step back for Capital, which notched a 42-12 victory over Billings Senior in its previous outing.
Glacier (7-1) goes up against Great Falls in a AA game matchup next week, while Capital (6-2) locks horns with Skyview also in a AA game.
