The Lake City Panthers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their tenth straight defeat. They suffered a rough 65-44 loss at the hands of Marlboro County. While losing is never fun, Lake City can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 206th, while Marlboro County is ranked 67th).
Despite the loss, Lake City still got an impressive performance from Bryson Rose, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Dallas Davis, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten steals.
Lake City struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Marlboro County pulled down 17 offensive rebounds.
Keshawn Leach was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on ten points and 15 rebounds for Marlboro County. Another player making a difference was Justin Purvis, who scored 13 points.
Lake City dropped their record down to 6-18 with that defeat, which was their eighth straight at home. As for Marlboro County, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season.
Lake City does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Marlboro County also has no future games currently scheduled.
