Baseball Recap: King's Christian's Winning Streak Snapped at Four Games

King's Christian dropped their record down to 11-6 on Monday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins. They lost 13-7 to the Camden County Vo-Tech Warriors. The Knights were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2016.

Aiden Lawlor was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. What's more, he gave up only zero walks, the fewest he's had since back in March. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.

Lawlor wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Levi Smith, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. Smith has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times he's played.

As for Camden County Vo-Tech, they pushed their record up to 9-4 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 11.5 runs.

Like King's Christian, Camden County Vo-Tech also got a great game from a two-way player: Johnnie Laurick. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. Laurick was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Denzel Wiggins was incredible, going 3-for-4 with six RBI, one run, and one double. That double was his first of the season. Chase LaRochelle was another key player, earning two runs and three stolen bases.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. King's Christian will challenge LEAP Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Camden County Vo-Tech, they will take on Oakcrest at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
