The Clay Panthers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight loss. They suffered a tough 50-26 loss at the hands of Manchester. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Clay has suffered yet this season.
Several Panthers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Sophia Craft, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds. Emma Emnett was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with six assists and two steals.
Clay's loss was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 4-6. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 27.3 points per game. As for Manchester, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-10.
Clay will challenge Glenwood at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Glenwood has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Manchester, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Fayetteville-Perry at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Fayetteville-Perry is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 51.9 points per game.
