C2 District 10 recap September 24, 2013
Kimball's Jonathon Withrow rumbled for the longest rushing play in C2 District 10 this season in his game against Dundy County-Stratton last week. Withrow's team defeated the Tigers as he sprinted for 72 yards on the play and finished with 214 in all.
Bayard was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fourth to second in the league. Earlier in the week, the Tigers triumphed over Gordon-Rushville 26-25.
Bayard's dynamic duo of Zac Rice and David Schuler proved to be unstoppable against the Mustangs, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Rice threw for 229 yards and Schuler had 61 yards receiving. Rugby Miller helped Bayard's passing attack out by catching 6 balls for 52 yards.
Randy McKibbin's team's dynamic duo of Rice and Schuler proved tough for Gordon-Rushville to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
Wyatt Pankowski was a beast in the backfield as Bridgeport beat Mitchell.
Rice put up the best numbers in passing as the Tigers bested Eric Roth's team.
Schuler was the best receiver in the league this week as Bayard beat the Mustangs.
Pankowski was the most successful running back in C2 District 10 this week. He ran for 293 yards on 14 carries as the Bulldogs topped Gordon-Rushville. Jaime Gonzalez also contributed to the rushing game with 108 yards on the ground.
Pankowski was a passing and rushing force as Bridgeport beat the Tigers. Pankowski's favorite target this week was Logan Linch, who caught 2 passes for 39 yards.
Trent Rutledge made the biggest impact on defense this week as Kimball bested Dundy County-Stratton. The 6-foot-0 sophomore.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, Bayard's Rice and Schuler have proven to be a lethal combination. Rice has thrown for 501 yards this season, while Schuler has 13 catches for 150 yards. Nick Kuxhausen's team's Withrow leads the league in rushing yards with 591.
Jerod Dean's team took down Mitchell 75-16 last week, the largest margin of any game. Pankowski in the win.
