Elkhart has gone 6-1 against Mexia recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Elks will square off against the Black Cats at 4:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
On Tuesday, Elkhart came up short against Groesbeck and fell 3-1.
Elkhart actually scored more points across those four sets (92-91), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 27-25, 27-25, 12-25, 25-17.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Cali Boyd, who had 20 digs. She has been hot, having posted 13 or more digs the last five times she's played.
Meanwhile, Mexia was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Buffalo. While the Black Cats didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Bison 25-19 in the first set.
Mexia started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 19-25, 25-19, 25-18, 25-19.
Elkhart's defeat dropped their record down to 20-13. As for Mexia, their loss dropped their record down to 4-18.
Elkhart took their victory against Mexia in their previous meeting back in September by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Elks since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
