Hoxie had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They had just enough and edged out the Decatur Community Red Devils 2-1 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Indians have posted against the Red Devils since August 27, 2021.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Hoxie got the one that really mattered. The match finished with set scores of 26-24, 18-25, 25-19.

Coincidentally, Hoxie and Decatur Community will both be playing Wheatland-Grinnell the next time they take the court. The Red Devils will host the Thunderhawks at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, while the Indians will play them later in the day, at 5:30 p.m.
