The Union County Yellowjackets entered their tilt with the Emerald Vikings with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Union County walked away with a 49-38 win over Emerald on Friday. That's another feather in the cap for Union County, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Union County got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Eric Gray out in front who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Seven Eison, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Union County pushed their record up to 10-14 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road. As for Emerald, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 13 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-15 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Union County will take on Woodruff at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Union County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 27 on Friday. As for Emerald, they will head out on the road to face off against Clinton at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Clinton presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Emerald in South Carolina (Clinton is ranked 101st, while Emerald is ranked 230th).
