Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Strom Thurmond ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They came out on top against Silver Bluff by a score of 59-50.
Strom Thurmond's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Quan Edmond, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 13 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Edmond has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Roosevelt Walker, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds.
Fox Creek is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 14 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-9 record this season. As for Strom Thurmond, their win bumped their record up to 19-6.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Fox Creek have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 32.6 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Strom Thurmond struggles in that department as they've been averaging 28.9 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
