The Southwest Onslow Stallions will be playing at home against the South Lenoir Blue Devils at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Southwest Onslow will be looking to keep their 19-game home win streak (dating back to last season) alive.
Southwest Onslow stacked a tenth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They blew past Kinston 69-42 at home. Southwest Onslow's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Yamorie Hardison and Oriyanna Galloway were among the main playmakers for Southwest Onslow as the former almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine rebounds and the latter scored 27 points along with seven steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Galloway has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jade Dollar, who scored ten points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, South Lenoir came up short against the Tigers on Friday and fell 34-25.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Alexus Haddock, who scored ten points along with six steals. Tyazhia Midgett was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with six rebounds.
Southwest Onslow's victory bumped their record up to 18-0. As for South Lenoir, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-11.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Southwest Onslow have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 39.8 rebounds per game. However, it's not like South Lenoir struggles in that department as they've been averaging 25.8 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Everything came up roses for Southwest Onslow against the Blue Devils in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 as the squad secured a 55-22 win. Does Southwest Onslow have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Blue Devils turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
