The Temecula Prep Patriots will challenge the Hamilton Bobcats at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Temecula Prep has given up an average of 16.8 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Temecula Prep came up short against Santa Rosa Academy on Tuesday, falling 20-9.

Kori Dawson and Samiyah Antoine did some serious damage despite the final result: Dawson went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI, while Antoine went 1-for-2 with one home run and two runs. Dawson is on a roll when it comes to triples, as she's now hit at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Rylie Parrino, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Hamilton entered their tilt with Xavier Prep on Wednesday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They never let the Saints get on the board and left with an 11-0 win. The game was the first time the Bobcats have beaten the Saints on their field since May 5, 2017.
Kaitlynn Barreto made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over four innings pitched. Barreto was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs.
In other batting news, Jayden Vargas was a standout: she got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Emily Wisda was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.
Hamilton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .320 or higher in seven consecutive games.
Temecula Prep has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.4 runs over those games. As for Hamilton, their victory bumped their record up to 8-5.
Wednesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Temecula Prep has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .525. However, it's not like Hamilton struggles in that department as they've averaged .543. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Temecula Prep might still be hurting after the 15-4 loss they got from Hamilton when the teams last played back in March. Will the Patriots have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other softball content.
