Basketball Recap: Delta Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Delta walked away with it. They enjoyed a cozy 61-44 win over the Yorktown Tigers on Saturday. The victory was nothing new for the Eagles as they're now sitting on three straight.

Jillian Barr continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 13-for-19 on her way to 31 points along with eight boards and three steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last five games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Marshall, who posted nine points.

Despite the defeat, Yorktown had strong showings from Lilly Sylvester, who almost dropped a double-double with 16 points and nine rebounds, and Olivia Conklin, who went 6-for-14 en route to 16 points. That was a full 36.4% of Yorktown's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.

Delta's record now sits at 17-7. As for Yorktown, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 17-7.

Coming up, Delta will face off against Maconaquah at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Maconaquah has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. Yorktown does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
