Basketball Recap: Raider Finau's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Bothell over Marysville Getchell

On Saturday, the Bothell Cougars didn't have quite enough to beat Marysville Getchell and fell 77-74. That's two games in a row now that the Cougars have lost by exactly three points.

Several Cougars players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Raider Finau, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and ten boards. Finau is crushing it when it comes to points: he's scored at least 21 every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaylen McLaughlin, who posted 22 points in addition to six assists and five boards.

Even though they lost, Bothell smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in three consecutive contests.

Arion Palacol continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Marysville Getchell, going 12 of 23 on his way to 37 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Zach Rice, who had eight points and four steals.

Bothell's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Marysville Getchell, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bothell will welcome Skyline at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Marysville Getchell, they will host Mountlake Terrace at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Marysville Getchell's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three matchups.
