The Brownsburg Bulldogs will venture away from home to face off against the Center Grove Trojans at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Center Grove took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Brownsburg, who comes in off a win.
While Brownsburg's win against Terre Haute North Vigo wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Bulldogs narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Patriots 6-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bulldogs have posted against the Patriots since May 8, 2021.

Luke Albrecht looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.
At the plate, Canyon Koonce was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last eight times he's played. Ty Jarvis also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Meanwhile, Center Grove unfortunately witnessed the end of their nine-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 11-7 to Whiteland. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Trojans, who until this game were averaging 3.05 runs allowed.
Carson Bush made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one run. Another player making a difference was Andrew Krupa, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Brownsburg is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.2 runs over those games. As for Center Grove, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-3.
Brownsburg's speedy runners might be the difference in Monday's match. The Bulldogs have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.5 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Center Grove, though, as they've been averaging only 1.3 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Brownsburg continue to outrun the ball?
Brownsburg couldn't quite get it done against Center Grove in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 as they fell 15-11. Can the Bulldogs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
